I wanted to share these words of wisdom.

I wanted to share these words of wisdom. I would also like to do what you love and love what you do!

Dr. Wayne Dyer's TEN SECRETS FOR SUCCESS
The First Secret:
Have a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing.
The Second Secret:
Don't die with your music still in you.
The Third Secret:
You can't give away what you don't have.
The Fourth Secret:
Embrace silence.
The Fifth Secret:
Give up your personal history.
The Sixth Secret:
You can't solve a problem with the same mind that created it.
The Seventh Secret:
There are no justified resentments.
The Eighth Secret:
Treat yourself as if you already are what you'd like to be.
The Ninth Secret:
Treasure your divinity.
The Tenth Secret:
Wisdom is avoiding all thoughts that weaken you.

Dean Bradshaw

This week I wanted to share some of the great work from the artists we show at Navarro Gallery in Sedona, AZ. If you are coming through Arizona, you need to stop by or go visit our website chrisnavarro.com Dean Bradshaw spent several years in southern France where he painted and submersed himself into the local culture. Known for his strong textures and bold brush work with saturated colors, Dean makes up his own hues, often heightening them, yet remains true to nature.

Chester Armstrong “Over the years the chain saw has literally become an extension of my own hand, “says Armstrong, “ I manage it with the same agility that two-dimensional artist displays when wielding a paint brush. “The creative process begins in the woodpile behind my house.  I work in a variety of woods, including red and yellow cedar, juniper and maple, his favorite medium is West Coast walnut.  “I love the red patina of the finished surface and it is a rough wood, I can use a lot of negative space in the design and yet the basic sculpture will remain strong.

Ron Mulligan has always lived in the Southwest and was intrigued by the culture and art of the Native Americans who inhabited this region. While hiking, he explored the petroglyphs and pottery shards left behind by these ancient people and became enthralled with southwest designs. Working with segmented wood turning, Ron began turning his own bowls, incorporating the shapes and symbols of the Southwest into his vessels. This soon became his passion; one that consumes all his time now.

I just released my new book as an E book on kindle.

I just released my new book as an E book on kindle.
‘’Embrace the Struggle the Art of Chris Navarro’’ released Dec 23, 2016
by Chris Navarro Kindle Edition $ 9. 99 or $25. Hardbound 122-page 9’’x 12’’ buy on Amazon.com

Navarro has been sculpting professionally since 1986. Best known for his large public monumental bronze sculptures of Native American, western, wildlife and inspirational subjects. With over 30 bronze monumental sculptures placed throughout the country. I hope people who read my book and see my art will be inspired by my story. That it will light a spark in them to pursue their own dreams. We need to look at struggles and challenges as opportunities that help us grow and become stronger. It is through the difficulties and lessons of life we gain wisdom and experience growth. Pain, hardship and defeat show us more of who we really are. it is in the struggle where your strength is built and your character is forged and we become the person we are today. Because there is little value in things that come easy with no effort. It is when you work hard and fight for something you appreciate it most. So always embrace the struggle!

If you are coming through Arizona, you need to stop by or visit our website chrisnavarro.com I met Steve in Casper we were taking oil painting in College together he has been a great friend for over 30 years and does great work. We have been showing his work at the Gallery since we opened in 2000. The oil paintings of Stephen Day. He paints a variety of subjects in oils but the landscape remains his first love. “I paint almost exclusively from life trying to capture the feeling and the mood of the subject before me. Painting outdoors is the place where all the information a painting needs can be found. “Painting is learning to see and the only place you can truly do this is on location; out in nature.”

If you are coming through Sedona AZ,stop by Navarro Gallery we have a lot of great artists like Sarah Rogers. She sometimes describes her art as 'tropical western wildlife' Sarah's medium is watercolor, usually combined with graphite, and she frequently applies several layers of heavy color to create the bright tones and often opaque quality of the paint. She prefers smooth surfaces and uses hot press paper, plate smooth illustration board and masonite with various surfaces.

20%CHANCE OF FLURRIES Casper Wyoming rancher Vern Robinett modeled for my sculpture.20% Chance of Flurries

20%CHANCE OF FLURRIES Casper Wyoming rancher Vern Robinett modeled for my sculpture.20% Chance of Flurries is a sculpture that won a national competition and was commissioned as a 15-foot tall monument by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Placed at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, the sculpture honors the dedication and hardships of the people who make their living ranching and farming. I was with Guy Robinett We were riding out in his pasture to catch a young calf to put across a saddle when he told me about a time a few years back when the weather forecast for that day was a “20% chance of flurries.” The seemingly small storm turned out to be a severe spring blizzard and killed more than half of their herd. As I depict him here, the rancher has his head down against the wind, calf across the saddle, with his horse pulling through deep snow in the middle of a blizzard.
For me, this image of a cowboy on a horse saving a young calf embodies the test of endurance that highlights the best qualities of the men who live in the West. They face hard conditions and take life as it comes.
20% Chance of Flurries
Poem by Jeff Anslinger
As we headed out to start the day
We noticed the sky was turnin' gray
A cold, north wind had started to blow
and we knew that by noon there'd be snow
Now I'll admit it’s early spring
And a man never knows what the weather will bring
But most of the calves are already born
And just last week the sheep were shorn
Then the blizzard blew in like a demon from hell
How much snow we'd get was hard to tell
So towards the shelter we pushed the stock
But the snow was a driftin' by two o'clock
Then the sheep went to millin' and the cattle bunched tight
But like mad men against nature we kept up the fight
We were yellin' and whippin' with our catch ropes
But as the blizzard raged on, there sank our hopes
Across our saddles we carried calves to the shed
And prayed to God that by morning they all wouldn't be dead
We made it to the house, but our hopes they were gone
Then the blizzard blew out just before dawn
For we knew the battle we had lost
But then first light showed us the cost
My heart was sinkin' while I was on the saddle
Countin' dead sheep and draggin' frozen cattle
But in my mind some words still remain
This weatherman's little rhyming refrain:
“Stockmen and ranchers, you have no worries
It's only a 20% chance of flurries.”

I just finished a new sculpture titled LEAP OF FAITH.

‘’LEAP OF FAITH’’ CLAY & WAX ORIGINAL TO BE CAST IN BRONZE
Height 18’’ Length 12’’ Width 4’’ PRECAST PRICE 1900.

I just finished a new sculpture titled LEAP OF FAITH. I made the horse and rider going over the cliff with sculpting wax and the base with clay. I always try to tell a story or message with my art. Because a leap of faith is a belief in something uncertain. It requires a trust to believe that we can succeed in whatever we put our heart and mind to. There are times in life when we have to take the risk and make the leap of faith. In the end we only regret the chance we didn't take. chrisnavarro.com

The great bucking horse from Wyoming Steamboat is in the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame

My art show ''Embrace The Struggle'' opens at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame it runs from Nov 16 thru Feb 20, in Colorado Springs, Co. The great bucking horse from Wyoming Steamboat is in the Hall. He is my favorite bucking horse of all time he was voted worst bucking horse of the year at the Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration 1906 and 1907. The horse was jet black with three white socks and had a powerful build. When he was a colt he sustained a broken bone in his nose that caused him to make a whistling sound when he bucked and that is why the cowboys gave him the name Steamboat. The old-time cowboys said the horse would buck his heart out and wouldn’t quit. chrisnavarro.com
